Agreement of 3d-ssfp and echocardiography for aortic root dimensions

چکیده
Background Respiratory navigated, ECG-gated, 3D-isotropic steady state free precession (3D-SSFP) is increasingly utilized in pediatric aortopathy. This is particularly true in adolescents as acoustic windows become limited. The agreement between echocardiography (ECHO) and 3D-SSFP obtained measurements could be influence by imaging plane, timing (systole versus diastole) and image quality. With 3D-SSFP the image quality is generally superior when acquisition is timed to diastole. As diastolic measurements are utilized as standard practice in adult aortopathy decision-making, whereas systolic diameters are standard in pediatric practice, examining the agreement between diastolic 3D-SSFP and ECHO (both systole and diastole) has merit. This study examined this question retrospectively.

Comparison of aortic root dimensions and geometries before and after transcatheter aortic valve implantation by 2- and 3-dimensional transesophageal echocardiography and multislice computed tomography.
BACKGROUND 3D transesophageal echocardiography (TEE) may provide more accurate aortic annular and left ventricular outflow tract (LVOT) dimensions and geometries compared with 2D TEE. We assessed agreements between 2D and 3D TEE measurements with multislice computed tomography (MSCT) and changes in annular/LVOT areas and geometries after transcatheter aortic valve implantations (TAVI). METHOD...

BACKGROUND Three-dimensional (3D) echocardiography has been reported to be valuable for evaluating the geometry of cardiac chambers. We validated the accuracy of 3D transthoracic echocardiography for quantifying aortic root geometry in comparison with cardiac multi-detector computed tomography (MDCT). METHODS Twenty-three patients who underwent cardiac MDCT and showed normal left ventricular ...
متن کاملEvaluation of aortic root for definition of prosthesis size by magnetic resonance imaging and cardiac computed tomography: implications for transcatheter aortic valve implantation
BACKGROUND This study sought to compare cardiac magnetic resonance imaging (CMR) with dual source computed tomography (DSCT) for analysis of aortic root dimensions prior to transcatheter aortic valve implantation (TAVI). In addition, the potential impact of CMR and DSCT measurements on TAVI strategy defined by 2D-transesophageal echocardiography (TEE) was evaluated. METHODS Aortic root dimens...
متن کاملLocalized Aortic Root Dissection Secondary to Contrast Agent Injection: Feasibility of Conservative Follow-up With Echocardiography
Introduction: Iatrogenic aortocoronary dissection (ACD) is a nightmare in interventional cardiology. Although ACD is rarely reported, the real-world prevalence is suspected of being higher due to unreported cases. The right coronary artery (RCA) ostium is involved in the majority of cases, and dissections are usually limited to the aortic sinus in half of the clinical presentat...

Background This is a pilot study to evaluate the performance of whole-heart isotropic RT-3D cine SSFP sequence as an efficient single solution for assessment of morphology and function in CHD by comparing it to: 1. Short axis (SA) 2D cine SSFP for LV volumetry and function 2. Multiplanar 2D cine SSFP for intracardiac morphology 3. Cine 2D SSFP and gadolinium (Gd)-enhanced 3D MRA for aortic root...
